Soil nitrogen dynamics in canola agroecosystems of eastern Canada

چکیده

Canola (Brassica napus L.) is a nitrogen (N)-demanding crop, so tissue N analysis should be related to soil supply. We evaluated canola uptake in relation pools plots receiving 0, 50, 100 and 150 kg ha-1 from urea at three sites eastern Canada 2012. Soil varied significantly the rosette, flowering, pod filling maturity stages, but responded less predictably urea. was inconsistently input. This confirms importance of site-specific fertilizer management when growing Canada.

Soil Nitrogen Dynamics in Organic and Mineral Soil Calcareous Wetlands in Eastern New York

C of wetlands is often highly problematic due to the need to consider soil, plant, and Calcareous wetlands are of great interest in conservation biology. Previous research has suggested that there are significant differences hydrologic factors as fundamental components of these in soil microbial N cycle processes between calcareous wetlands develecosystems (Bridgham et al., 1996). The term wetl...

Agroecosystems, nitrogen-use efficiency, and nitrogen management.

The global challenge of meeting increased food demand and protecting environmental quality will be won or lost in cropping systems that produce maize, rice, and wheat. Achieving synchrony between N supply and crop demand without excess or deficiency is the key to optimizing trade-offs amongst yield, profit, and environmental protection in both large-scale systems in developed countries and smal...

Organic Waste Nitrogen and Phosphorus Dynamics under Dryland Agroecosystems

Organic waste beneficial-use programs effectively recycle plant nutrients when applied at agronomic rates. Our objectives were to determine: biosolids nitrogen (N) fertilizer equivalency; biosolids N mineralization during years of above and below average precipitation and long-term N mineralization; which soil phosphorus (P) phases dominate following years of biosolids application; and the pote...

Evaluation of the CSM-CROPGRO-Canola Model for Simulating Canola Growth and Yield at West Nipissing in Eastern Canada

1 Canola was developed in Canada in the 1970s as an edible cultivar of rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) with low glucosinolates and low erucic acid. Currently, canola is grown on eight million ha of agricultural land in Canada, which is 22% of the global canola area. More than half of the harvested canola seeds in Canada are exported, accounting for 46% of the international canola market (FAOSTAT, ...
